EZ Rider kit for commuter bike
This kit is absolutely brilliant! I did 3,500km on mine in 2 years.
I use my bike to get to the train station, which is 6km away from my home. There is a massive climb on the way back, which is not what I want to deal with after a day at work. I was looking for a compact electric kit to put on my bike, and EZ Rider was ideal. It was shipped quickly, no pre-order wait time like with the alternative one. I really like that the battery is easy to remove and compact enough to throw in a backpack. I just lock the bike, take of the battery and get on the train.
That's commuting, what about longer rides? Weekends - I cycle with my 2yo in a child seat. For its size the battery holds quite a lot of power. I get 20-30km from a full charge depending on the terrain with assist at 2 and 3. I also got a second battery, that I carry in a bag on long rides, which gives me 50-60km range. So, it might be not very obvious, but having a swappable compact battery gives you flexibility. If it was one big battery - it wouldn't be ideal for commuting/shopping - carrying a massive battery in a backpack. I you want to use the bike for long rides - just get a second battery!
Honestly where do I start the kit itself is the best quality and has the clearest instruction manual on how to install and any help I did need was answered by Jason in a timely professional manner absolutely pleased with my kit and the 40mph I get all day long.
I think it would be great if there was a device for even one light with such a good system.
I had low expectations not for the e-bike kit but for anything that’s road legal in the uk! This kit massively exceeded my expectations. Easy to fit, easy to set up and has changed my 3.5 mile Devon hills commute from an arduous hilly 25mins to an 11 minute leisure ride. I don’t expect it’ll be long before I swap out for a higher wattage kit either 1000w rear wheel or mid drive.
Great kit and excellent customer support. I ordered a 2500W–3000W kit with a 60V setup, and the hardware I received was actually a higher-spec controller, which shows the overall build quality and performance potential of the system.I personally prefer a different connector style, but that’s purely personal preference. I’m currently waiting on a second set of torque arms before riding, but overall I’m very happy with the product and the support behind it. Highly recommended.
Recently ordered a Mid drive kit after watching a review on dude stuff YouTube channel, a great bit of kit, and miles better than I anticipated it to be! Would 100% recommend to people. Evening came within 3 days.
